Farndon is a small historic village and civil parish in the district of Newark and Sherwood, Nottinghamshire, England. Set in a patchwork of farmland and hedgerows a short distance from the River Trent and the market town of Newark-on-Trent, it retains a compact village core with a parish church and a handful of traditional buildings.
The local economy is largely agricultural with some residents commuting to nearby towns, and community life centres on the village hall, local groups and the surrounding countryside, which is popular with walkers and cyclists exploring the Trent valley. Although quietly residential today, the village’s long history is still visible in older buildings and the close-knit social feel typical of small East Midlands communities.
