Sutton Bonington is a sizeable village and civil parish in the borough of Rushcliffe in Nottinghamshire, positioned between Nottingham and Loughborough. It grew from two medieval settlements and still shows that history in its layout and churches, sitting amid arable farmland and small woods that give it a distinctly rural feel while remaining within easy reach of the East Midlands urban area.
The parish is perhaps best known for hosting a University of Nottingham campus focused on agricultural, food and veterinary sciences, which brings a research and student presence alongside traditional farming and commuter households. Community life is active for a village of its size, with pubs, sports clubs, a village hall, regular local events and several listed buildings that reflect its long history.
