The civil parish of Fencott and Murcott in the district of Cherwell, Oxfordshire, England comprises two small hamlets set in low-lying agricultural countryside on the southern fringe of Otmoor. The area is notable for its wetland floodplain and meadowland, making it quieter and more wildlife-rich than much of the surrounding county.
Historically these were small farming settlements and they retain that rural character today, with farmsteads, cottages and a sparse population. The local economy remains largely agricultural with many residents commuting to nearby centres such as Oxford and Bicester, and the community has a strong local identity with an interest in conservation and birdwatching thanks to the nearby nature areas.
