Wroxton is a small village and civil parish in the Cherwell district of Oxfordshire, sitting in gently rolling farmland roughly six miles from Banbury. The surrounding landscape is marked by the nearby ridge of Edge Hill, which gives the area a strong historical atmosphere as the scene associated with the first major clash of the English Civil War.
The village is best known for Wroxton Abbey, a 17th‑century country house built on the site of an Augustinian priory and now used as an overseas study centre by Fairleigh Dickinson University; its parkland and historic buildings draw occasional visitors. Locally the economy remains largely agricultural with a fair number of residents commuting to nearby towns, while a modest programme of community events and preserved listed buildings keeps village life distinctively village‑centred.
