Bix is a small, picturesque village in the civil parish of Bix and Assendon in South Oxfordshire, Oxfordshire, England, set on the scarp of the Chiltern Hills about three miles west of Henley-on-Thames. The area is characterised by steep chalk slopes, beech woodland and traditional stone cottages, giving it a distinctly rural, conservation-minded feel within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Locally there are a number of historic buildings including a small medieval parish church and a scattering of listed cottages, while Bix Bottom nearby is a valuable SSSI with species-rich chalk grassland and notable butterflies and wildflowers. The village has a largely residential and agricultural economy and attracts walkers and commuters who use nearby towns and stations for journeys into Oxford and London, so it retains a quiet, close-knit community atmosphere.
