Ludlow North covers the northern side of Ludlow, a mix of residential streets, small commercial units and semi-rural fringes sitting above the valley of the River Teme. It includes the town’s rail access at Ludlow railway station and has good road links via the A49, so many residents are a blend of local workers, commuters and people drawn by easy access to the surrounding Shropshire Hills.
Although the ward itself is more modern and suburban than the mediaeval heart of town, its fortunes are closely tied to Ludlow’s heritage and visitor economy - the proximity of Ludlow Castle, the thriving food and festival scene, independent shops and numerous listed buildings means tourism and small businesses play a significant role alongside local services and active community groups.
