Hampton in Arden is a historic village and civil parish in Solihull, on the rural edge of the West Midlands. It has a compact medieval core of timber-framed and brick buildings centred around a village green and a Norman parish church, with winding lanes and riverside meadows beside the River Blythe - the valley is valued for wildlife and has SSSI-quality habitats that attract walkers and naturalists.
Despite its rural character the village is well connected, lying close to Birmingham, Birmingham Airport and the M42, and is served by a local railway station on the route towards Coventry, so many residents commute while local life revolves around small shops, pubs, a primary school, village hall and regular community events that celebrate its historic identity.
