Exford is a small village and civil parish in Somerset, England, tucked into the River Exe valley on the western edge of Exmoor. It has the rough-stone cottages, a village church and a traditional pub and shop that you expect from a moorland settlement, and serves as a modest local centre for surrounding farms and hamlets.
Historically rooted in hill farming, the village now also depends on visitors drawn to Exmoor's moorland, walking routes and wildlife - notably the famous Exmoor pony - and to the atmosphere of remote rural England. The landscape around Exford is scattered with ancient field systems and archaeological features, and the community still stages seasonal fairs and local events that reflect its agricultural and conservation-minded character.
