The village and civil parish of Luxborough sits on the western edge of the Brendon Hills, on the southern fringe of Exmoor National Park in Somerset, England. It’s a small, rural community set in a steep, wooded valley with traditional stone buildings, a village church and narrow lanes that feel distinctly remote compared with the lowland parts of the county.
Historically the area has been shaped by upland farming and the 19th‑century mining activity that touched parts of the Brendon Hills, but today its economy is centred on grazing, forestry and low‑key tourism - walkers, holiday cottages and local crafts. The landscape of moorland and rolling hills, a network of footpaths and clear night skies are the parish’s main attractions, and the community retains a quietly close‑knit rural character.
