Milborne Port is a compact village and civil parish in Somerset, tucked between the larger towns of Yeovil and Sherborne close to the Dorset border. It sits in gently rolling countryside beside a main road route, giving it a semi-rural feel while remaining within easy commuting distance of nearby towns.
Historically the settlement grew around a medieval market and later had borough status and parliamentary representation until the 19th century, and remnants of its long history survive in older stone houses and public buildings. Today it has a small but active community with local services, village events and a mix of small businesses and commuters, making it typical of Somerset villages that balance heritage with modern rural life.
