Winterbourne is a semi-rural ward on the northern fringe of Bristol, within South Gloucestershire in England. It centres on a traditional village with a small high street, parish church and several listed buildings reflecting medieval and later agricultural origins, and is framed by surrounding countryside and pockets of woodland and nature reserves that give it a distinct village character despite being close to the city.
Economically the area is largely residential with many residents commuting into Bristol and the wider region, while locally there are independent shops, pubs, schools and community organisations that keep a strong social life. The ward mixes suburban housing with farmland and conservation areas, and community events, sports clubs and active village associations play a big part in local identity.
