Perton is a large village and civil parish in South Staffordshire, Staffordshire, England, sitting on the western edge of the county close to Wolverhampton. Much of the modern settlement was built from the 1970s onwards on the site of a former Second World War airfield (often referred to as RAF Perton), which gives the area its unusually planned layout, wide roads and a number of open green spaces and lakes.
Today Perton is largely a residential, commuter community with local shops, schools and a community centre, while residents commonly travel into Wolverhampton, Telford or Birmingham for work. The village retains a village-like social scene with active community groups and events, and its setting on the border of the West Midlands gives it a mix of suburban convenience and accessible countryside nearby, with neighbouring villages such as Codsall within easy reach.
