Wombourne is a large village and civil parish in South Staffordshire, Staffordshire, England, lying on the western edge of Wolverhampton. It sits in the green corridor of the Smestow Valley, with canalside features such as the nearby Bratch Locks on the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal and plenty of walks and cycle routes, so it feels both semi-rural and well connected.
The village grew from a small medieval settlement into an industrial community in the 18th and 19th centuries, with coal, iron and nail-making leaving a visible heritage; today that history mixes with a suburban character, local shops, leisure facilities and active community life. Many residents commute to Wolverhampton and beyond, while local events, clubs and the surrounding countryside give Wombourne a strong village identity despite its size.
