Biddulph is a large civil parish and town in the district of Staffordshire Moorlands in Staffordshire, England, lying on the northern edge of the county where moorland drops down towards the Cheshire plain a few miles north of Stoke-on-Trent. The area mixes rolling countryside with former industrial valleys and is best known for its green spaces, notably Biddulph Grange Country Park and the ornamental Biddulph Grange garden, a dramatic Victorian creation by James Bateman with terraces and exotic plantings.
Historically the parish expanded around coal mining, quarrying and small-scale industry; today it functions largely as a commuter and local service centre with independent shops, community groups and sports clubs. The old railway corridor is now the popular Biddulph Valley Way for walkers and cyclists, and the town’s social life reflects a blend of rural character and industrial heritage, with easy links into Stoke-on-Trent and neighbouring Congleton.
