Boxford is a quintessential village and civil parish in the Babergh district of south Suffolk, England, sited along the small River Box and close to the border with Essex and the market town of Sudbury. Its compact, largely medieval centre and surrounding rolling arable countryside make it a recognisable example of rural East Anglia.
Historically the village grew around the wool and milling trades and still shows many timber‑framed houses, a medieval parish church and a village green, several of which lie in a conservation area. Today Boxford mixes farming and small local businesses with an active community life - clubs, occasional village events and a couple of traditional pubs - attracting both locals and commuters who value its historic character.
