Glemsford is a large village in the Babergh district of Suffolk, England, set in the rolling countryside of south Suffolk not far from the River Stour and a short drive from Sudbury and Long Melford. Its position in the Stour valley gives it a pleasant rural character while keeping it reasonably connected to nearby market towns.
The village has long roots in the region’s textile and small‑scale industries and still shows a mix of historic buildings and more recent housing. Today Glemsford combines local shops, pubs and community groups with light industry and agriculture nearby, and many residents commute to larger towns while village life remains active with schools, clubs and seasonal events.
