The village of Cavendish sits in the rolling countryside of West Suffolk in rural Suffolk, England. It has a picture‑postcard centre with a village green, honey‑coloured timber‑framed and thatched cottages and a medieval parish church, set within the gentle Stour Valley landscape that typifies this part of East Anglia.
Historically the village gave its name to the Cavendish family, who went on to become prominent landowners and Dukes of Devonshire, and much of the conservation area reflects that long heritage. Today Cavendish remains largely agricultural with small local enterprises and community events such as village fêtes, while being within easy reach of market towns like Sudbury and Long Melford for wider services.
