Barnby and North Cove form a small combined parish in East Suffolk, in the county of Suffolk, England, set on the low-lying floodplain of the River Waveney at the edge of the Suffolk Broads. The surrounding landscape of marsh, dykes and grazing meadows includes the notable wetlands of Barnby Broad and Marshes, so the area is popular with birdwatchers and anyone interested in wetland ecology.
Traditionally agricultural, the villages retain historic cottages and parish church fabric reflecting medieval roots, while today village life is quiet and close-knit and many residents commute to nearby market towns such as Beccles. Tourism and nature conservation have become increasingly important alongside farming, giving the parish a mix of rural character and outdoor-recreation appeal.
