Benacre is a small coastal parish in East Suffolk, Suffolk, England, lying a few miles south of Lowestoft and north of Kessingland. The shoreline and hinterland are dominated by the Benacre National Nature Reserve, with sandy beaches, dunes, saline lagoons and the shallow Benacre Broad; it is prized for its wintering and breeding birdlife, rare coastal plants and ongoing issues with coastal erosion and change.
Settlement is sparse and the area retains a strong estate and agricultural character centred on places such as Benacre Hall. Rather than busy seaside tourism, the parish attracts birdwatchers, walkers and conservation interest, and local life is shaped by habitat protection and coastal management as much as by farming.
