Hollesley is a small village and civil parish in East Suffolk, in the county of Suffolk, England, set close to the coast beside Hollesley Bay. The village lies within the distinctive landscapes of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with shingle shores, tidal creeks and heathland that attract walkers and birdwatchers and give easy access to coastal features such as Orford Ness.
Traditionally agricultural, Hollesley also has a notable social and economic presence in the form of HM Prison Hollesley Bay (formerly a Borstal), which has long been a local employer. The settlement retains a quiet, community-centred character common to the Suffolk coast, while being within commuting distance of market towns such as Woodbridge and the regional centre of Ipswich.
