Ripley is a small historic village in the borough of Guildford, Surrey, England, lying close to the edge of the Surrey Hills AONB and within easy reach of London. It retains a compact village green, several listed period cottages and a conservation area that hint at medieval origins and later Georgian and Victorian development.
Today it combines a strong village community - independent shops, pubs, a village hall and regular fetes or markets - with the economics of a commuter location; the surrounding countryside supports walking, riding and small-scale agriculture while nearby towns provide employment and services, giving Ripley a distinctly rural yet well-connected character.
