Ashtead Park is a suburban ward in the district of Mole Valley, Surrey, sitting on the edge of the village of Ashtead. It is characterised by leafy streets, mature trees and pockets of parkland that reflect its semi-rural setting, with easy commuter links into London via Ashtead railway station and the nearby road network. The ward lies close to recreational open spaces such as Ashtead Common and the ridges of the North Downs, which give it a pleasantly green feel despite its proximity to larger towns.
Historically the area developed as a late 19th–early 20th-century commuter suburb and still contains some larger houses and estate remnants; conservation designations and the Green Belt have helped retain its village character. Socially and economically it is largely residential and relatively affluent, with good local schools, active community groups and sports clubs, a small parade of local shops and frequent village events that reinforce a strong neighbourhood identity.
