Beare Green is a small village in the Mole Valley district of Surrey, England, lying on the A24 a couple of miles south of Dorking and on the edge of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has a distinctly semi‑rural feel, with surrounding farmland and woodland giving good access to walking, cycling and equestrian routes; notable local landmarks and leisure attractions such as Box Hill and the Denbies vineyard are within easy reach.
Originally a scattered agricultural settlement that grew with 20th‑century road improvements, Beare Green today is largely residential with a village hall, local pub and small community amenities, and a mix of commuters and locals working in nearby towns. Rail connections from nearby Dorking (and road links towards London) make it convenient for commuters, while the active local scene reflects the typical village life of the Surrey Downs.
