Virginia Water is a village in the borough of Runnymede, Surrey, England, most famous for the large, 18th‑century man‑made lake set within Windsor Great Park. The landscaped cascades, rockwork “ruins” and lakeside paths make it a popular spot for walkers, photographers and outdoor leisure.
Today it functions as an affluent commuter centre with a railway station serving London and Reading, good road links towards Heathrow, and easy access to attractions such as Thorpe Park; the nearby Runnymede meadow, where the Magna Carta was sealed, adds a strong historic dimension to the area.
