Warlingham is a village and civil parish in the district of Tandridge, Surrey, sitting on the scarp of the North Downs with pleasant chalk downland and commons that give sweeping views towards London and the surrounding Surrey countryside. The settlement retains a village centre of shops, pubs and period houses clustered around green spaces and a conservation area, so it still feels distinct despite being within the commuter belt.
Historically rooted and largely residential, the local economy is driven by small retail, services and a significant commuter population thanks to good rail links into the capital. There is an active community life with village clubs, schools and occasional local events, and several historic buildings and lanes that hint at its older agricultural and manorial past.
