Coxley is a small residential neighbourhood on the outskirts of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, with a village-like feel despite its proximity to the city. It combines pockets of older stone and brick housing with later suburban estates, local shops, a few pubs and community clubs, and easy access to surrounding green spaces and footpaths.
The area has grown out of a mix of agricultural roots and the wider industrial history of the Wakefield district, so you can still see traces of former working‑class industries alongside repurposed buildings. Good road and public‑transport links to Wakefield and neighbouring towns mean it’s popular with commuters while retaining a relatively calm, community‑minded atmosphere.
