Flockton is a small, semi‑rural village in the metropolitan borough of Kirklees, England, sitting on high ground between Huddersfield and Wakefield. Its stone cottages, narrow lanes and drystone walls give it a distinctly West Yorkshire feel, with views out over the Calder Valley towards the Pennines and easy access to larger centres such as Leeds for work and services.
Historically the area was shaped by agriculture, quarrying and local collieries, and although much of that industry has gone the village retains a strong community vibe with village halls, pubs and local sports teams. Today Flockton is largely residential and popular with commuters while still feeling like a genuine rural settlement with occasional village events and a quieter pace of life.
