Badby is a small village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, sitting on the scarp of the Northamptonshire uplands a few miles south‑west of Daventry and within easy reach of Northampton. Its elevated position gives fine views over the Nene Valley and the surrounding countryside, and the village edges onto the well‑known ancient woodland of Badby Wood, a haven for wildflowers and birdlife that is popular with walkers.
The village retains a compact, historic centre of stone cottages and an old parish church, and life there still reflects a rural mix of agriculture, local services and commuting to nearby towns. Community activity is noticeable - village events, walking groups and conservation efforts for the woods - so although quiet, Badby has a strong local identity rooted in its landscape and history.
