Badby is a small village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, set on the scarp of the Northamptonshire Uplands with sweeping views over the surrounding countryside towards Daventry and Northampton. It is notable for the adjacent ancient beech and oak woodlands, often referred to as Badby Woods, which provide a locally important patch of semi-natural habitat and popular walking country on the edge of more agricultural lowlands.
The village retains a distinctly historic, rural character with a medieval church and a number of traditional cottages and listed buildings within a conservation area. Economically it remains rooted in agriculture but functions increasingly as a commuter community for nearby towns; socially it sustains an active village life with local events and volunteer-run amenities that reflect its long-established community spirit.
