Lamport is a small village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, set in gently undulating Northamptonshire farmland roughly between Northampton and Market Harborough. The settlement is compact, with traditional stone and brick cottages clustered near lanes and arable fields, giving a very rural feel while being within easy reach of larger towns.
The parish is best known for the nearby country house and park of Lamport Hall, with historic interiors, collections and occasional open days and events that draw visitors; the long presence of a single estate has shaped the village’s historic character. Locally the economy remains largely agricultural with a mix of commuters, and community life centres on parish events, the village hall and conservation of the historic buildings and landscape.
