The village and civil parish of East Wittering sits on the southern edge of the Manhood Peninsula in the Chichester district of West Sussex. Once a small medieval fishing community, it is now best known for a long sandy beach along Bracklesham Bay, popular with wind- and kitesurfers and day-trippers from the surrounding towns.
Locally the economy mixes tourism, independent shops and market gardening on the hinterland, while many residents commute into Chichester. The area benefits from nearby natural attractions such as Pagham Harbour, an active community life with sailing and sports clubs, and ongoing efforts to protect dunes and coastal defences.
