Southwater

Southwater is a large village and civil parish in the district of Horsham in West Sussex, England. It is perhaps best known for Southwater Country Park, a former gravel-extraction landscape now remade into a popular set of lakes, walks and wildlife habitats that attract families, anglers and birdwatchers and give the village a surprisingly green, semi-rural feel.

Historically a small agricultural settlement, Southwater has expanded in recent decades into a thriving commuter and local centre with new housing, shops, pubs, a primary school and community facilities; its modern leisure and retail development (including a cinema and cafés) sits alongside active local clubs, conservation groups and regular community events, while being within easy reach of Horsham and regional transport links.
