Arnside is a small coastal village in Westmorland and Furness, England, set on the southern edge of the estuary of the River Kent with broad views across Morecambe Bay. It sits within the Arnside and Silverdale AONB and is dominated by the wooded limestone outcrop Arnside Knott, a National Trust reserve, and by the distinctive Victorian Arnside Viaduct that spans the estuary.
Once a modest Victorian seaside resort, Arnside now depends largely on tourism and day visitors, attracted by coastal walks, birdwatching and rock‑pooling, alongside a small centre of independent shops, cafés and guesthouses; the railway station also makes it a convenient commuter base. The tidal sands and channels of the bay are spectacular but notoriously dangerous, so local guides, conservation groups and a strong community spirit are a visible part of village life.
