Levens is a small village and civil parish in Westmorland and Furness, England, lying a few miles south‑west of Kendal on the edge of the Lake District and not far from the estuary of the River Kent and Morecambe Bay. It occupies limestone, glacially sculpted countryside of rolling fells, pastures and stone walls.
The village is best known for Levens Hall and its 17th‑century topiary gardens, an important draw for visitors and a local tourist asset alongside agriculture; many people commute into Kendal for work. Levens retains a close‑knit rural community with historic buildings and traditions that reflect its roots in the old county of Westmorland.
