Corsham is a handsome market town and civil parish in Wiltshire, set on the edge of the Cotswold dip slope not far from Bath and Chippenham. Its compact centre of honey‑coloured stone houses, narrow streets and the parish church of St Bartholomew's Church gives it a distinctly historic character, while the nearby stately home of Corsham Court is noted for its art collection and landscaped gardens.
Historically shaped by wool and, more noticeably, Bath stone quarrying, Corsham still bears the imprint of underground workings - some of which have been repurposed for defence and technology uses around MOD Corsham. Today it combines a busy local high street of independent shops and cafes with a commuter population heading to Bath and Bristol, and a lively community calendar of fairs and cultural events that underline its strong social and civic life.
