Lackham is a small rural hamlet in north‑west Wiltshire, England, located a few miles from Chippenham. The settlement is centred on a historic country‑estate landscape and is best known for the Lackham campus of Wiltshire College and University Centre, a land‑based education centre with a working farm, equine and horticulture facilities used for teaching and industry training.
Because the college and estate dominate local life, they are the area’s main employers and attract students and seasonal activity to an otherwise quiet agricultural neighbourhood. The setting of parkland, farmland and mature trees gives Lackham a distinctly rural character, and the campus occasionally hosts public open days and training events that connect the community with traditional and modern rural skills.
