Lacock is a small village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England, set in the gentle Avon valley a few miles from larger market towns. Its streets of honey‑coloured stone cottages, an intact medieval plan and the compact village green give it a timeless feel; much of the settlement is now looked after by the National Trust and retains an unusually high degree of historic fabric and charm.

Historically the parish is best known for Lacock Abbey, a 13th‑century religious house later converted into a country house and notable as the home of William Henry Fox Talbot, a pioneer of photography whose early negatives were made there. Today Lacock combines a small, local community and agricultural surroundings with an economy shaped by heritage tourism and film work - its unspoilt streets have doubled for period dramas and attracted visitors interested in history, architecture and early photography.
