Melksham is a market town and civil parish in central Wiltshire, England, set amid gently rolling countryside close to the edge of Salisbury Plain. Its historic core has Georgian and Victorian terraces and a parish church reflecting medieval origins, while the town expanded through agriculture and later small-scale industry in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Today Melksham combines local services, light manufacturing and a commuter population travelling to nearby centres such as Bath, Bristol and Swindon. Community life is lively with a regular market, annual shows and local clubs, and recent investment in housing and transport has brought change while the surrounding Wiltshire landscape remains central to its character.
