Lickey and Blackwell sits on the southern edge of the West Midlands in the district of Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, England, dominated by the wooded heights of the Lickey Hills. Those hills are locally famous for extensive walking routes, panoramic views over Birmingham and the surrounding countryside, and interesting geology and habitats that make the area a popular outdoor destination for both residents and visitors.
Historically it grew as a mix of rural village communities and attractive suburban development, and today is largely residential with many commuters to nearby urban centres; the nearby Lickey Incline remains a noted feature of railway history. The parish also has a village feel with local shops, pubs and community groups, and a number of country houses and green spaces that reflect its semi-rural, relatively prosperous character.
