Powick is a village and civil parish in the Malvern Hills district of Worcestershire, sitting just to the south‑west of Worcester beside the River Teme and within easy reach of the slopes of the Malvern Hills. The landscape is a mix of riverside meadows and farmland, with plenty of footpaths and attractions for walkers and birdwatchers, and it serves as a quiet commuter and local service centre for the surrounding countryside.
The area has notable history: nearby Powick Bridge was the scene of a cavalry engagement in 1642 during the English Civil War, and the village was long associated with the 19th‑century psychiatric facility known locally as Powick Hospital, which shaped the community until its closure in the late 20th century. Today Powick retains a small but active village life with historic buildings, a village hall and pubs, small businesses and a continuing agricultural presence.
