Ravenhill sits just south‑east of Belfast city centre and is centred on the long ribbon of housing and shops along Ravenhill and Ormeau Road. The ward mixes Victorian terraces with post‑war housing and a number of newer developments, and benefits from good transport links and nearby green space such as Ormeau Park, making it feel both urban and surprisingly green for its proximity to the centre.
The area is perhaps best known for Ravenhill Stadium, the home of Ulster Rugby, which brings lively matchdays and occasional concerts and helps support local pubs, cafés and small businesses. Culturally it’s a diverse, working neighbourhood with a strong local identity, where community facilities and independent traders sit alongside the legacy of Belfast’s industrial and residential past.
