Cregagh is a residential ward on the eastern side of Belfast in Northern Ireland, centred on the long Cregagh Road and made up of a mix of post‑war council estates and private housing. Its closeness to Stormont and good road links into the city means it functions largely as a commuter suburb with local shops, schools and parks serving a fairly close‑knit community.
The area has a strong unionist cultural identity and active community groups; historically many locals found work in east Belfast industries such as Harland & Wolff, and more recent regeneration in the nearby Titanic Quarter has altered employment patterns and amenities. While it experienced tensions during the Troubles, recent years have seen investment in housing and green spaces alongside continued local traditions, parades and remembrance activities.
