Llanedeyrn lies on the eastern edge of Cardiff in Wales, and started life as a small rural settlement centred on a church dedicated to St Edeyrn. That historic core survives in a few older buildings and place‑names, but the area is largely suburban following substantial post‑war expansion.
Today Llanedeyrn is a mixed neighbourhood of council and private housing with local shops, schools and green spaces; many residents commute into Cardiff for work. Ongoing local regeneration and community activity have helped retain a strong neighbourhood feel while keeping the area well connected to the city and the wider regional economy.
