Trefor is a small coastal village on the northern edge of the Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd, Wales, sitting by a modest harbour and rugged shoreline. It is best known for its granite quarry and pier: in the 19th and early 20th centuries quarried stone was shipped from the village, leaving behind distinctive industrial remnants and a dramatic coastal setting.
Today the village combines a tight-knit local community - where the Welsh language remains strong - with small-scale tourism, fishing and commuting to larger centres. The area attracts walkers and birdwatchers with its coastal views and nearby countryside, while the quarry and harbour give Trefor a particular historic character uncommon in similarly sized settlements.
