Yr Eifl is a coastal ward on the western edge of Gwynedd, occupying part of the rocky Llŷn Peninsula and taking its name from the distinctive three‑peaked hill range that rises above the shore. The area is defined by dramatic cliffs, headlands and sweeping sea views across St George's Channel towards Ireland and, on a clear day, the Isle of Man, making it popular for walking, birdwatching and outdoor recreation.
Locally the ward retains a strong Welsh‑speaking culture, with small villages and a history tied to fishing, agriculture and past granite quarrying on the slopes of the hills. Tourism and holiday homes now play a significant economic role alongside traditional farming, and community groups and chapels remain important social hubs for residents in this scenic corner of Wales.
