Rhoscolyn is a small coastal village on the west side of Holy Island, off the western tip of the Isle of Anglesey in Wales. It sits above a sandy cove and rocky headland on the Irish Sea, with wide views towards Holyhead Mountain and, on very clear days, across to Ireland.
Quiet and tightly knit, the community mixes farming with a modest tourism trade - holiday cottages and walkers are common in summer - and the village preserves a long local history in its chapel and the holy well of St Gwenfaen. The shoreline bears the imprint of a maritime past, and visitors come for the rugged scenery, rock pooling and a much calmer atmosphere than some of Anglesey’s busier bays.
