Neath is a compact market town in the county borough of Neath Port Talbot in south-west Wales, sitting on the banks of the River Neath and at the mouth of the wooded Vale of Neath. Its skyline is dominated by the atmospheric ruins of Neath Abbey and the wooded slopes around Gnoll Country Park, while the town centre still shows Victorian streets and an old market that reflect its long local role as a commercial hub.
