Redwick is a small, low-lying village and parish on the reclaimed marshes of the Gwent Levels, within the administrative area of Newport in south‑east Wales. The landscape is dominated by sea walls, rhynes (drainage ditches) and open pasture, with wide views over the Severn Estuary and, on a clear day, the distant Severn crossings.
Traditionally an agricultural community, Redwick has a quiet, rural character with a handful of historic buildings and a small, close-knit population. The levels around the village are important for wetland wildlife, attracting birdwatchers and those interested in the region’s medieval drainage heritage, while many residents commute to nearby Newport or further afield for work.
