Ringland is a residential ward on the eastern side of Newport in Wales, largely developed as a post‑war council estate and set close to the M4 corridor. It’s characterised by wide streets, council and private housing, and a number of green spaces and playing fields that give the area a suburban, open feel despite its proximity to the city centre.
The neighbourhood has a strong local identity and has been the focus of regeneration and community-led projects in recent years, aiming to improve housing, amenities and employment opportunities. There’s a visible mix of social and economic backgrounds, with local shops, community centres and active volunteer groups playing an important role in day‑to‑day life.
