Glasbury is a rural ward in Powys, mid Wales, centred on the riverside village where the River Wye meets the River Llynfi. The landscape is a mix of river valley, hedged farmland and rolling hills, which makes the area scenically attractive and popular for walking, angling and canoeing; it also sits within easy reach of the hills of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Historically the settlement grew as a riverside crossing and local market centre and still retains a number of older stone buildings and a strong community identity. The local economy is largely agricultural with a notable tourism element, and many residents commute to nearby towns such as Brecon and Hay-on-Wye for work and services.
